visit the wizard of oz costume exhibition in the fashion mall from the 10th till the 25th of february.

After successful seasons in Brisbane and Sydney, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s London Palladium production of The Wizard of Oz is playing at Adelaide Festival Centre in April for 4 weeks only.

The musical boasts an impressive collection of over 130 individually tailored garments. From big furry lions to sepia toned farmhand costumes and jewel encrusted Emerald City gowns - every individual piece has been meticulously planned, crafted and created for the wonderful world of Oz. The costumes within the exhibition have travelled the world with the touring productions of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz - from America to London, Canada and now Australia they have played their part in the re-creation of this fantastic musical treat!

The focal point of the costume exhibition is Dorothy’s ruby red slippers. Decorated with over 4,000 hand-applied Siam coloured Swarovski crystals, the slippers really steal the show. The long-standing relationship between The Wizard of Oz and crystal house, Swarovski, can be traced back over 75 years to their beginnings in the original The Wizard of Oz MGM film. The brand collaboration began in 1939 when Judy Garland first tapped her jewel-encrusted shoes together and continues today with musical star, Samantha Dodemaide, dancing her way down the Yellow Brick Road in the iconic ruby shoes!

Starring Anthony Warlow, WICKED’s leading ladies Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix and rising star Samantha Dodemaide as Dorothy, The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting revision of the all-time classic. Developed from the ever-popular MGM screenplay, it contains the beloved songs from the Oscar®-winning movie score, all the favourite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Don’t miss your chance to rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat.
